Our Made-to-Order Process and Ingredient Standards
We do not decide on a retail price first and then search for ingredients that will lower the cost.
Instead, we begin with the actual dietary needs of rabbits and guinea pigs, repeatedly test each formula, select suitable ingredients, and then set the price according to the actual production cost.
Every Bubble & Pea Product Is Made to Order, Without Large-Scale Stockpiling

This article explains what makes Bubble & Pea’s pricing different.
Did you know that every Bubble & Pea product is made only after an order is placed?
Large-scale production and long-term inventory storage are not our primary business model.
We schedule production after receiving an order so that customers can receive products made closer to the time of delivery.
At the heart of any business should be the product itself.
Many people ask why Bubble & Pea products cost more.
Here are the reasons why 👇🏻
Developed in Response to Customers’ Needs and Real-Life Situations
For example, Gentle Digestive Care Hay Powder was originally developed for chinchillas.
Anyone who cares for chinchillas knows that they have many dietary restrictions, which makes finding a suitable supplemental food especially difficult.
I did not realize at first that chinchillas could have even more sensitive digestive systems than rabbits. They cannot eat fruits or vegetables, and grains, legumes, and seeds are also unsuitable for them.
Later, I discovered that this hay powder was not only suitable for chinchillas. I was also surprised by how well it worked for rabbits with especially sensitive digestive systems.
Pea is now eight years old and has limited mobility. During changes in the weather or periods when her immune system seemed weaker, she would occasionally experience digestive instability. Her droppings could vary greatly in size, and she sometimes had soft stools.
Since I began giving her Gentle Digestive Care Hay Powder, her condition has gradually improved. Her droppings are now normal and consistent in both shape and size.
We recommend this formula for rabbits with very sensitive digestive systems.
Formulate First, Set the Price Later
We always begin by creating food that fully meets our standards, without allowing cost to dictate the formula. Only after we are satisfied with the final product do we set the price.
This differs from companies that first decide on the retail price they want and then reduce ingredient costs to meet that target.
That approach goes against Bubble & Pea’s philosophy, which is why we do not sell low-quality food.
Choosing Whole Ingredients from Clearly Identified Sources

Soybean pulp (okara), oat bran, wheat bran, and rapeseed meal have already undergone multiple stages of processing. Much of their nutritional value may be lost, and contamination may also occur. Bubble & Pea does not use these ingredients.
Some pet foods use ingredients left over from food processing, such as bran, oilseed meals, and other by-products.
These ingredients are not necessarily unsafe, but their sources, nutritional composition, and processing methods are not always straightforward.
Bubble & Pea prioritizes clearly recognizable ingredients such as hay, fruits, vegetables, and herbs.
We do not rely on large amounts of filler ingredients to add weight, allowing customers to understand exactly what is in each product.
Because These Are the Foods We Feed Our Own Pets Every Day
Bubble & Pea products were not developed to follow trends.
They gradually took shape through our everyday experience of caring for Pea, Bubble, and Sea Otter.
Whether a formula is simple, whether the ingredients are clearly identified, and whether the product can fit into an everyday diet are the things we care about most.
Our own pets eat these foods too.
People who care for rabbits and guinea pigs as members of the family will understand why we are unwilling to use low price as the only standard when selecting ingredients.
Understanding the Choices Behind Every Price
The price of a product reflects more than the cost of its ingredients.
It also includes small-batch, made-to-order production, formula testing, equipment, labor, product testing, packaging, and the costs required to operate a business legally.
We may not be the lowest-priced option, but we hope to be a brand with clearly identified ingredients, transparent production methods, and the trust of customers for years to come.
