Bubble and Pea as young rabbits in September 2018, the month they were adopted

Our story

It All Started With Bubble & Pea

Two sibling rabbits, one adoption post, and an accident that changed the way we thought about feeding. This is where Bubble & Pea began.

Two Sibling Rabbits From One Adoption Post

In September 2018, I came across a Facebook post about two rabbits in need of adoption. At first, I only planned to adopt one, but when I learned they were siblings, I couldn’t bear to separate them—so both came home with me. That’s how Bubble and Pea became the beginning of everything.

People often assume Pea is the boy and Bubble is the girl, but it’s actually the opposite! Their names got mixed up during the adoption process, and they simply stayed that way ever since.

Two Very Different Rabbits

When Bubble first arrived, he wasn’t in great condition. He frequently had yellow-green nasal discharge and rarely ate hay or vegetables.

Pea, on the other hand, was a little foodie who wanted to eat almost everything—except she wasn’t much of a water drinker.

The Accident That Changed Everything

One unexpected accident changed everything. Pea fell from a high place and suffered injuries to her spine and ribs. There was no surgery that could fully restore the damage, and no medication that could simply make it go away.

So I told myself, “If medical treatment has its limits, then I need to find every other way I can to support her.

Why We Started Making Our Own Food

So I began studying rabbit nutrition, reading academic research, analyzing ingredients, and experimenting hundreds of times to find the right balance of finely milled hay and other natural, herbivore-friendly ingredients.

After months of careful adjustments, I began to see encouraging changes. Pea gradually became more stable, regained her strength, and even started drinking water on her own. Bubble’s nasal discharge eventually stopped, and his digestion also became much more stable.

This experience shaped everything we do today—

“True care begins with healthy, everyday nutrition.”

Soon our family grew — then came Bear, Little Otter and Little Anemone. See how Bubble & Pea grew from there, or explore the hay powders we make today.
